Nestled in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind, this game farm is a stunning retreat, blending adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty. With a history dating back to the mid-1800s, the property spans vast, unspoiled landscapes filled with wildlife and indigenous flora. Visitors can enjoy scenic hiking trails, mountain biking routes, guided game drives, and even Sunday dog walks, perfect for exploring with furry companions. It also serves as a picturesque venue for private events, including weddings and corporate functions.
One of its standout features is a professionally designed NRCS-approved shooting range set against the scenic bushveld backdrop. This facility offers an exciting challenge for both beginners and experienced marksmen, making it ideal for honing skills or hosting
unique events.
The farm is entirely off-grid, powered by a state-of-the-art 26-panel solar array that charges a 20kW lithium battery block. It is supported by advanced Blue Solar Victron equipment in a 48V setup, along with a 70-amp inverter, an 85-amp charger, and a 16kW silent diesel generator for backup, which can independently supply three-phase power. While electric geysers in the homes are currently deactivated, they can easily be reconnected. The original Eskom infrastructure remains intact, ensuring simple restoration if ever required. This advanced system offers sustainable living without compromising on comfort.
The property is fully fenced with over 26km of 2.2m game fencing and features a natural spring that managed 100,000 gallons per hour during fodder irrigation, although its output hasn't been formally tested. While the pumps and electric motors have been removed and are in storage, the irrigation fittings and mounts remain intact. However, the current solar generator is too small to power these systems.
Approximately 60% of the 963 hectares is arable, with 577 hectares categorized as dry arable lands. Of these, 40 hectares were previously cultivated, and 15 hectares are still under irrigation. Although crops are no longer in production, the mainline pipes and hydrants are still in place. Additionally, 386 hectares consist of grazing land across rocky areas.
The farm includes game and equipment, which will be made available upon request. A wealth of additional information about the property is also available upon inquiry.
Please note that farm viewings will only be arranged for prospective buyers who provide all fica documentation, complete the fica questionnaire, submit proof of funds, or are pre-qualified.
